Invasive Procedures

Chorionic Villus Sampling

Chorionic sampling – is an invasive procedure performed to biopsy placental tissue between 11 – 16 weeks

Amniocentesis

Amniocentesis – prenatal diagnostic test which is done by obtaining small amount of amniotic fluid performed after 16 weeks

Amniodrainage

⁠Amnio drainage – performed by aspirating amniotic fluid in various cases of polyhydramnios

Fetal Reduction

⁠Fetal reduction – selective Fetal reduction in case of multiple pregnancies with abnormality in one of the babies/ triplets and quadruplets to reduce the risk of miscarriage

Intrauterine Blood Transfusion

Intrauterine blood transfusion- is a procedure done mostly in Rh isoimmunised pregnancies presenting with fetal anemia

Interstitial LASER

⁠Interstitial Laser – procedure done in complicated Monochorionic pregnancies, ablation of placental tumors like chorioangioma etc
